You may want to keep an eye on Jifty, which is a different framework
that is more closely aligned with Mason. It's younger than Catalyst in
terms of manhours, but it is being heavily developed by BestPractical
(creators of RT) for a new community website.

This would mean you wouldn't have to necessarily rewrite your components
as modules (though you might want to slice them up into smaller components).
