I wonder if this has to do with whether the project leaders like to hang 
out on IRC for a given project. FWIW, I definitely _don't_ like to hang 
out on IRC. I'm much too easily distracted by it, so the only channels I 
join regularly are on $DAYJOB's server.

In the few times I've been on the #perl channels, I've never seen Jon 
Swartz either.
