OK, my apologies - you are right.   I got so wrapped up in my .reglink
component that I didn't consider the popup.mas component being scomp'd
within it.   That needed to have the newline removed, and doing so with
a <% %>\ or a print worked.  Seems this was the first time I've used
this combination of components in this way.   Sorry for not catching
this before, but thanks for the help.
