Maybe someone who runs RedHat can answer your > question I use FC10, and I can't say I had any of these problems, and I didn't have to create those directories. I installed using CPAN.pm, but apache and mod_perl are from .rpms. Apache's uid/gid is apache.apache (48). The demo tutorial I wrote was done on FC10. http://www.ozzu.com/perl-tutorials/tutorial-intro-embedded-perl-using- mason-t98586.html If you want to have a look and download the demo, it will be dead simple to install since as all I did was tarball it off FC10 (you also need the DBI and DBD::SQLite modules, altho it may at least start without that). You should be able to point to localhost/zoodemo without adding any configuration at all and get it to work. If not, let us know what the errors are.
