I got this to work with ssh and pppd. I based it mainly on the VPN howto. I
had a lot of problems with pppd's configuration, but finally got it to work.
Each side of the VPN had a static internal IP address for the VPN interface
and pppd did not do any authentication since that was done through ssh.
