Hit me. I'm not awake today, been up the whole night wondering whether to
flee my house to a forest fire, or what... That masq box is running a 2.0.x
kernel, yes. And considering it's about to be upgraded to a newer OS, I'm well
aware that the setup I currently have will just fail to work, unless, for some
miracle, I can figure out something different, although I doubt it.

Both. It needs both UDP as well as TCP packets forwarded on it's ports.
Check out the information at
http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT/pca.nsf/pfdocs/2000041406481212 (I hope that
works, if not, this is what I followed:

    - www.symantec.com -> Service & Support
    - Filled in 'pcAnywhere v9.0' in the fields, and went to its page
    - Picked Knowledge Base & FAQs
    - Scroll down to Gateway Issues (click on the blow arrow to open)
    - Click first article: 15.1 Cannot connect over the Internet to
host that can be reached over local area
                           network (LAN)

Tells you a whole lot. The example is also based on internal hosts being
configured for DIFFERENT ports, and using ONE IP on the external host (gateway).
My setup is different in the sense that, all internal hosts (and external) are all
using the same port, but I use multiple IPs on my gateway.

Under NAT & TCP/IP Usage it tells you what you need for it to work (one UDP
and one TCP).
