I'm not sure what Hotline is, but having an Internet connection does not
prevent you from doing whatever you want behind your network.  If you want
outside computers to be able to talk to something on your network, you'll have
to set up forwarding (portfw) on the Linux "router".

You'd need to set up a VPN (Virtual Private Network).  I suggest you look into
the PPTP masq patch.
