It makes you look lame :-) */ Okay I have followed every info and FAQ and HOWTO I could find trying to set up a 2 computer network with a shared cable modem. I am trying to set up a Linux box(192.168.0.1)(gateway) and a window98(192.168.0.2) network. The local network gets set up without problems, cuz I can ping back and forth. But no matter what I still can never get access past it. Also I notice that route isnt working or is bombing out somewhere. When I type 'route' it shows the localnet and loopback networks but when it gets to list the Gateway(192.168.0.1) is sits there for about 5 minutes. Also Masquerading isnt getting anything out of this localnet. I followed it several times like the faqs on setting it up and still to no avail. It shouldnt be too hard but it sure seems like it is being that way. If anyone can please help me set up this very should be simple network I would be very appreciated.
