/* HINT: Search archives @ http://www.indyramp.com/masq/ before posting! /* ALSO: Don't quote this header. It makes you look lame :-) */ Hi I have a problen, like the tpoic says. I have Red Hat Linux 7.0 installed on a PIII 700MHz machine and all necessary modules etc. to do the masquerading. I have done all like the faq in www.linuxhq.com says but still I can't ping linux box from the client macine or the client can't ping the box. I have 3 ethernet cards in the Linux box. Eth0 is internet card, for wich ip address is given by dhcp. Eth1 is for the first client and eth2 is to the second client. The Linux box and the clients are connected to each other by means of a cross-connected-cable. I'm almost sure that the cable is ok, because the "link" -lights are on. And also, I'm runnind winME on the client macines. IPs for the cards: eth0: via dhcp, eth1: 192.168.0.1 and eth2: 192.168.0.2. Clients: #1: 192.168.0.3 and #2: 192.168.0.4. Gateways for the clients: 192.168.0.1 and 192.168.0.2. DNS addresses for the clients are from my isp. Oh, and subnet masks: clients & linux 255.255.255.0. I guess pinging between 2 PCs don't require masquerading or does it? Please help, and don't answer like I know all about Linux, I'm just a beginner :) Thanks. -Petteri Matilainen [EMAIL PROTECTED] _______________________________________________ Masq maillist - [EMAIL PROTECTED] Admin requests can be handled at http://www.indyramp.com/masq-list/ -- THIS INCLUDES UNSUBSCRIBING! or email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] PLEASE read the HOWTO and search the archives before posting.
