Hey Guys
Got a question for ya. I am setting up a Linux webserver/firewall/proxy atm.
Got 2 NICs in it, one hooked up to a 1.5mbit ADSL router and the other the
internal network. Masq is running on these no problem at all and works
great...
Only problem is we used to dial up to a private network and access the
internet thought there (slow, 24.6kpbs!). We still need to access the email
servers from that private network. So if I hook up a modem to this linux box
and dial out, with the nodefaultroute option in pppd, i can just add a route
to the mailserver in the private network. That way it just uses the dialup
connection for that only.. works fine from the linux box, but i have no idea
how to masq it.
Thing is the people that need to use it have notebooks and they have to work
without reconfiguring, on both the private network (physically on it) and on
our network. Since DHCP is in use it is fine as long as the gateway can sent
the packets to the right place. Anyone know how i can accomplish this?
Servers config is Kernel 2.2.19, using ipchains.
Thanks.
Nathan G
