The irc module is currently not included with the 2.4
kernels. You need to patch the kernel with the
patch-o-matic section of the iptables package (
http://netfilter.filewatcher.org/ ). In the iptables
package directory you need to run 'make patch-o-matic'
and select ytes when prompted to install the irc
component. Then you need to change your kernel config
to include the new module.
