I'm hoping someone can shed some light on this issue. I have been running a redhat box as my firewall/masq box for quite awhile now (ipchains, TinityOS firewall script, kernel 2.2.x). Recently I have noticed a large number of hits for port 2223 on my firewall log. I have traced them back to ICQ traffic and I haven't noticed this before. only two things have changed recently: 1) I moved from latest ICQ client to Trillian 0.70 (different client same protocol) 2) had to migrate from static IP to DHCP in light of the ATT cable migration. It's more of an annoyance but I can't seem to find anything about this port issue (newsgroups, archive, web search). I still get my icq messages and coworkers have not reported getting error messages. I do not run the ICQ_masq module because I do not believe it works for the newer protocols and I did not need it in the past for ICQ to work properly. it appears to work just I get 2-3 hits on the firewall for port 2223 for every ICQ message sent. -Joe Ward _______________________________________________ Masq maillist - [EMAIL PROTECTED] Admin requests can be handled at http://www.indyramp.com/masq-list/ -- THIS INCLUDES UNSUBSCRIBING! or email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] PLEASE read the HOWTO and search the archives before posting.
