Hi,

I've read teh IP MASQ HOWTO and have got quite
a bit accomplished. My problem is that my internal
mASQed m/c is not able to ping external addresses on
the internet. I am Running RH7.2 Kernel 2.4.10
and using IPTables with the simple firewall ruleset
mentioned in the MASQ HOWTO.

I have two interfaces on the Linux server
eth0 ( esternal) and eth1 ( internal). I have eth0
pick up its IP address by DHCP and eth1 is set to
192.168.1.1. My internal MASqed m/c is a Win98 one and
has gateway set to 192.168.1.1 and its IP set to
192.168.1.2.

The following are succesful

1) Pinging the linux m/c from win 98
2) Pinging the win m/c from Linux
3) Pinging from Linux m/c to the Ip address of
   external interface
4) Pinging from WIn m/c to IP address of external
   interface
5) Pinging any external IP address from Linux box

Here's the problem.

I can even ping any external Ip address from the Linux
box but CANNOT ping any external Ip address from the
WIn 98 box ( except for the IP adress of the external
interface mentioned in item 4 above).

I have FORWARD_IPV4 set to TRUE/yes (I tried both)
in /etc/sysconfig/network

WHat am I missing??

ANy help will be appreciated.

Thanks

Venkat
