:)Hi,
:) I need help with setting up my linux box with IP
:)Masquerade. I am currently running RedHat 7.3 on my
:)PII 350 computer.
:) I have followed the HOW-TO online, but I just can't
:)get it to work. I have downloaded the 2.4.19 kernel
:)and the 1.2.6a netfilter. I followed the instruction
:)on the HOW-TO. And at the end, when I run
:)/etc/rc.d/rc.firewall, I get the following message:
:)
:)Loading simple rc.firewall version 0.63..
:)
:) External Interface: eth0
:) Internal Interface: eth1
:) loading modules: - Verifying that all kernel
:)modules are ok
:)ip_tables, insmod: ip_tables: no module by that name
:)found
:)ip_conntrack, insmod: ip_conntrack: no module by that
:)name found
:)ip_conntrack_ftp, insmod: ip_conntrack_ftp: no module
:)by that name found
:)ip_conntrack_irc, insmod: ip_conntrack_irc: no module
:)by that name found
:)iptable_nat, insmod: iptable_nat: no module by that
:)name found
:)ip_nat_ftp, insmod: ip_nat_ftp: no module by that name
:)found
:). Done loading modules.
:) enabling forwarding..
:) enabling DynamicAddr..
:) clearing any existing rules and setting default
:)policy..
:) FWD: Allow all connections OUT and only existing
:)and related ones IN
:) Enabling SNAT (MASQUERADE) functionality on eth0
:)
:)rc.firewall-2.4 v0.63 done.
:)
:)
:) by the way, my eth0 is a 3com ethernet card which
:)use for external usage and eth1 is a D-link DFE-530TX+
:)which is use for internal usage.
:)
:) also, when I boot up my computer, the lights on
:)the D-link card were never light up, however, I can
:)see it from the Hardware browser. Does this have
:)anything to do with the IP MASQ not working?
:)
:)Please help me.
:)Thank you very much for your time to read through this
:)email.
:)
