I was really stupid, and everywhere that my examples should have shown
iptables, I used the command ipchains.

I've been using iptables for years, and yet I still can't get ipchains
out of my head!!  I'm very sorry for the confusion this caused.

>     ipchains -A FORWARD -d xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx -j REJECT

This should say

>     iptables -A FORWARD -d xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx -j REJECT

And so on throughout my post, which as far as I know, was otherwise
correct.


And now to get some much-needed sleep....
