I'm trying to setup ip masq with Mandrake 5.2. I think I have
everything configured properly.
My 3c503's are ISA.
On the linux machine,
ifconfig shows both my NICs (3c503 0x300, irq5 and 3c503 0x310, irq 9)
(I have no sound card or plan one). I can ping my real IP as well as
the 192.168.1.1.
The real IP is eth0 and the intranet is eth1. (I can ping
www.yahoo.com also)
My two Win95 machines can ping themselves (also 3c503s) at 192.168.1.2
and 3 through
my Linksys (dumb) hub. Their gateway is 192.168.1.1 (eth1 in linux).
Neither the linux or Win95s can ping each other (from Win95 <--> linux).
I've checked over the rc.local, created a rc.firewall (according to one
website) and resolv.conf
is okay, I think. I have read and followed every (perhaps too many)
HOW-TO and 'this is
how I did it' web site I can find.
I'm certain there's nothing wrong with my NICs. The eth1 is plugged
into the UPLINK port on
the hub.
This is really driving me nuts. I thought the hard part was getting the
second ethernet to be seen
by linux.
Can anyone help?
Also, I was trying to leave out ipfwadm until I got a successful ping,
but I put it in anyway
according to the HOW TO.
mbh
/etc/rc.d/rc.local
/etc/resolve.conf
/etc/rc.d/rc.firewall
