I believe it depends on what you have in your Windows 95 settings
Start-Settings-Control Panel-Internet-Connection
If you have it set to 'connect using modem' it will route through the modem
if you have it set to 'connect via LAN' it will route through the linux box
Im sure I will hears of aggrevasion if im off track :-)
