Because the new mailing list software at Indyramp is, well, new... we're
sending out a biweekly reminder of how to use it. The full feature set is
available by mailing [EMAIL PROTECTED] with "help" in the
message. This is just a quick reference.
You are subscribed to [EMAIL PROTECTED] ... the admin address is
[EMAIL PROTECTED], and the list manager (a busy human) hides at
[EMAIL PROTECTED]
You can control your list options through the request address above, or at
the masq web site at:
http://tiffany.indyramp.com/mailman/listinfo/masq
or
http://www.indyramp.com/masq-list/
The web site is fairly self-explanatory. If you don't know your password,
you should go to the web site NOW and have it sent to you. The web site
does work with Lynx, so you can use it even if you're not graphically
inclined.
***** YOU NEED YOUR PASSWORD TO UNSUBSCRIBE *****
***** IF YOU DON"T KNOW IT, FIND IT NOW!!!! *****
It was in your welcome message when you joined the list, and it will be
sent out on the first day of every month that you are on the list. If you
do not have web access and do not know your password, email
[EMAIL PROTECTED] and request it (remember this is a human who is
busy... it may take a day or two for a response). You can change it to
something more easily remembered by going to the web page or using the
email interface.
To use the email interface, you send mail to the request address for your
list: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
You can put the commands in the subject or body of the message. Here are
some common tasks. Where you see EMAIL, you would put your email address,
and where you see PASSWORD, you would put your password.
subscribe PASSWORD digest
-- subscribes you to the digest, and sets your password
to PASSWORD. Only works if you're not on the list at
the address you're mailing from.
unsubscribe PASSWORD
-- removes you from the list, whether you're on digest
or regular form. This must be the password you have;
you can't just make something up.
set digest on PASSWORD
-- changes you to the digest form of the list.
set digest off PASSWORD
-- changes you to the regular form of the list.
set nomail on PASSWORD
-- temporarily turns off your mail from the list. This
is good if you're going to be on vacation or away
email.
set nomail off PASSWORD
-- turns your mail from the list back on after the
above command.
More options are available at the web page and via the email responder at
[EMAIL PROTECTED] ... check them out.
If you have questions, email them to [EMAIL PROTECTED]
Remember that administrivia (subscribe, unsubscribe, how to do
either of these) should go to the list owner, and NEVER to the
list. Sending administrivia to a mailing list makes you look
bad and wastes the time of hundreds of subscribers.
Thanks,
Indyramp mailing list management
