When my Email-client (Outlook98/Outlook express) initiates a connection to
the ISP to fetch the mail from my pop3 mailbox, the isdn-connection is made
but no data is transferred, (i get an error-message after the configured
pop3-timeout, that the mailserver could not be contacted). If the
ISDN-.connection is already up, there's no problem. Everything else (www,
ftp etc.) works fine. I already tried to adjust the timeout-values in OL,
but this only affects the time until I get the errormessage.
I read about an issue with SMTP where it helped to adjust the MTU/MRU, but
this was with a modem connection. I tried to adjust MTU/MRU to 500, but with
the same results.
Any ideas ?
I also have a minor problem, when I use the local squid installed on the
router, I must hit refresh after the dial-up connection is made to get the
page actually. But maybe this is offtopic, I also haven't debugged this
problem right now.

My config:
Suse Linux 6.0, Kernel 2.0.36
Masquerading & Firewall enabled, no special rules (built by SuSEconfig)
Teles S0 16.3 ISDN-Connection to arcor (german internet by call)

I'm no linux-crack, but know much about IP, NT, ISDN etc., so I think it's
no simple configuration error..
