Hi,

my first time out on this list ...

Here's the big picture. I'm an admin of a full class C, I have a dial-in
server (Shiva LanRover), for laptops to dial into. I then want to have a linux
box (mklinux) masquerade to the laptops .. but all this has to go through the
LanRover. But, the LanRover doesn't know what to do with an addr like
192.168.x.x .....

So, my specific problem .. getting masquerading working, then I can sniff and
see what's goin on.

So I compiled the kernel (2.0.33), with the appropiate settings turned on ..
the modules don't seem to load .. are they critical??? just to get started
....

I set a client up with an addr 192.168.3.2 ... it times out with an error
saying server didn't respond ... so at least it's looking at the server, but
just not getting a reply.

Also, I'm getting confused as to how this works ... does masquerading create 2
interfaces on one ethernet card and route the 2?

.. it's all very confusing :-)

any input would be great ...

Cheers

E
