I have a SGI Origin 200 server with one LAn card, I want to do IP MASq on it.. Can I do that?? It has IRIX.... Well moreover is it possible to do the Masq with single LAN card... My eth0 receives it's IP via DHCP and i then alias eth0 to eth0:0 and give it my gateway address (192.168.1.1). The problems that might occur and that you have to be carefull about is that your routing table is properly set up. I've added a few lines in my rc.local to make sure the aliasing occurs, as well as to make sure the routing table is properly brought up. I've added this line just before i run any of the masq setup and rules : route add -net 192.168.1.0 netmask 255.255.255.0 dev eth0:0 Works great for me and a few of my friends.
