We are trying to get squid to work as a transparent proxy on a masquerading
linux box.
Originally we were redirecting http requests on the masquerading box but now
we have a Layer 4 switch to redirect all network web traiffic to multiple
proxies.
Our problem is the masqueraded address seem to cause problems with squid.
When testing on the masquerading box squid worked fine for one redirected
address but once a whole subnet was introduced Squid after a short time stops
responding but is still running and recieving requests, the local browser
eventually time out.
We now have a Layer 4 switch to do the redirection (so we can hit multiple
proxies) and the masquerading box is not used as a proxy. But there is still
a problem.

Squid Proxies
My problem is whenever the masqueraded clients are added into the picture
squid fulls over/stops responding, so the Layer4 switch still hits it as squid
is responding to the request just nothing else, your browser always times out.
There is no problem with real IP address just the masqueraded ones.
What's the story with this?
