Check the driver(s) you are using for the network cards you have. You
may have the wrong driver in use, or it could be misconfigured. On
Debian systems the logs are in /var/log. Look at kern.log for the
bootup messages to see which driver is being installed, and at the
error messages that are being output when the NIC dies if it pus
out any.
