i just attempted to setup masqing on redhat linux 6.0 but i am having the
following problem: ping and domain name resolution works from client boxes
on the network, but telnet, ftp and web browsing does not work.
here is my rc.firewall:
echo "1" > /proc/sys/net/ipv4/ip_forward
echo "1" > /proc/sys/net/ipv4/ip_dynaddr
ipchains -M -S 7200 10 60
ipchains -P forward DENY
ipchains -A forward -s 192.168.0.0/24 -j MASQ
on the client machines, i have a static ip of 192.168.0.* setup and a
gateway of 192.168.0.1 w/ dns setup resembling the dns setup of my linux
ppp configuration. the ppp connection on the linux box is in perfect
working order.
any suggestions on what the problem might be?
