/* HINT: Search archives @ http://www.indyramp.com/masq/ before posting! */ >Is there a way to reroute to an external site using IP-Chains? I read the >HOWTO, but it only explains on redirecting to an internal IP. >I need to redirect and/or masquerade traffic sent to my Linux FW/router to >an outside server (vendor). Interesting problem. Well, to me, you would ideally like to get that remote computer to re-direct themselves to that outside vendor's machine. The reason for this is that then your server won't see ALL of the requests and response traffic. Is this possible for your needs? If not, you need to consider the bandwidth requirements of proxying all that traffic. But, on the flip side, your customers will KNOW that they are no longer at your site. If you ARE able to to re-direction, its simple for WWW stuff but might be harder for other traffic types. What specific traffic are you looking at? Does anyone on the MASQ list have any other thoughts? Can PORTFW actually forward traffic to a different EXTERNAL host? --David .----------------------------------------------------------------------------. | David A.
