Hmmm, very interesting; I have never seen that message before. I
suspect it has something to do with your particular ISP setup, but I'm
not sure how to offer any help. The "MASQ: reverse ICMP" suggests that
your client sent an ICMP message (ping?), and when the reply came back,
it had a bad checksum. If you run "ipchains -M -L -n" at that moment,
do you see an ICMP connection being masqueraded to that host?

I have found file transfers to be quite problematic at times, even with
NO firewall. For instance, I can try running the Java ICQ client
directly on my firewall (thus, no masq, no SOCKS), and still see file
transfers fail inexplicably.
I also still see instant-messages that hang trying to contact the other
party, and go through the server after a terribly long wait. I suspect
there may be ICQ client bugs getting in the way of my determined
research. Perhaps I should start playing with other ICQ clones instead.
But there are only so many hours in the day. :)
