you can checkout www.dhs.org.
It allows you to get hostnames such as <yourname>.dhs.org it allows you to
set them up so they're run of their DNS servers or you can set them up as a
hostname on your own DNS servers so you can do
<someone_else>.<yourname>.dhs.org, not only does this allow you to setup
names for you friends plus giving experience in DNS admin.
