I have a home network masqueraded through a Linux box. We would like to be able to play Internet multiplayer games through it. Gaming servers usually require a fixed port for the Internet connection. That means that I need to get the masquerading software to use a fixed port number for UDP (one per WinDoze PC) instead of the normal dynamically assigned one. Has anybody done this? How would I go about doing it? Perhaps with an obscure ipfwadm command to associate UPD for a given inside IP address to a fix port number? If I do this would it interfere with normal internet access or have other negative effects? The port numbers that I am thinking of using are 2213-22xx (recommended for the Kali network).
