Hi,

I'm running Redhat 5.0 w/ kernel 2.0.33 and current versions of both
ipfwadm and samba. I set up my masq first and it worked perfectly. I
used it for several days with not a single hitch....

but noooo, I couldn't be happy with that. Instead I decided I wanted to
share my printer and so configured samba. That ran great, too. But
then I noticed that my masq requests weren't getting through or were
timing out. I mean, parts of the request seemed to get through (like
DNS or occasionally part of a page) but not the whole enchilda.
Likewise, I can log into the linux server via the local network but when
I try to do a 'ls' or something it seems to lose track of what it was
doing cause it never makes it back.

I haven't seen any conflicts identified anywhere but was wondering if
anyone might know what is going on. I have tried to stop samba and
return everything back to it's pre-samba config but that hasn't done any
good either.

I really need help (my 'puter, too)

Any assistance will be gratefully received!

Thanks,

Bret Holstein
