Don't know anything about the other games you mention, but with the newest patch Descent Freespace works without any modification on your part. As long as you do not wish to serve a game that is. You can join and play just fine. Audio works and everything. As far as ICQ's concerned, there is no need to forward port 4000 inbound. Forward a 20 or so port range somewhere high up and set ICQ to a firewall configuration confined to those 20 ports.
