Hi. I've set up IP masq on a slackware 3.1 box, kernel upgraded to 2.0.34 It uses SLIP to connect to the internet, and I have been happily using it as a squid proxy for a while -- IP masq is supposed to replace squid and save me some disk space... As far as I can see, everything is set up correctly: kernel options as in the HOWTO, ipfwadm -F -p deny ipfwadm -F -a masq -S 192.168.1.2/32 -D 0.0.0.0/0 (192.168.1.2 is the client machine) Both machines can ping each other happily. Now the problems. The client machine cannot ping the outside world - but it *can* resolve DNS using external DNS servers, and it can traceroute to external machines. The client machine can initiate an http request, but hangs at the transferring data stage -- the same happens in Netscape and Lynx under Linux, Netscape and IE3 under Windows. I can log in to an external FTP server using CLI FTP, but data from a DIR request just never arrives. Any ideas?
