Errr, you are right :) I changed it to port 23 now, but unfortunately its
still not working, the only thing I can
think of is my routes are not correct....Tim has gone to bed now, anyone
else can help me out ? :)

I've also issued 'route add -host 203.xxx.xxx.23 dev eth0:0' to get the
following :

[root@lan22 /root]# route -n

does this look right ??  Have I missed something else....
