This won't by any stretch of imagination solve your problem (although I
notice it has been solved already), but .SAM stands for sample. If you edit
the HOSTS.SAM file, it won't do diddly squat. You have to rename it to
hosts (no extension. Same with LMHOSTS.SAM. Just in case you didn't know..
