I have kernel 2.0.35 on my gateway box (my pptp client is a win95 box) and
applied the patch from the following site:

The instructions said to select PPTP and (optionally) PPTP debugging, but I
didn't see that option anywhere when I ran make menuconfig. Also, there
were no obvious instructions for what to do as far as IP forwarding/masq
after patching the kernel.
Can anyone shed some light on this?
