Hi Folks; I'm a newbie to linux, trying to setup IP-Masq. I am running Slackware (3.5 distribution) - 2.0.34 kernel, recompiled with options set as defined in the IP-MASQ-HOW2. I have a local network setup. Workstations are W95. I am using PPP to dialup my ISP. the connection works, and I am able to surf on the linux box, and ping anywhere on the I-net. From the linux box I am also able to ping any workstation on the lan. Likewise the W95 workstations are able to ping & telnet into the linux box. (I'll disable this later, I just wanted to see if it worked). The W95 workstations are not able to ping, browse, or see the Inet. When trying to ping from the workstation, I get a request timed out message. The browser does not connect to a DNS server - using numbers or names. Using netstat -r gives: Destination Gateway Genmask Flags MSS Iface sf-netserver1.id * 255.255.255.255 UH 1500 ppp0 Localnet * 255.255.255.0 U 1500 eth0 Loopback * 255.0.0.0 U U 3584 lo Default sf-netserver1.id 0.0.0.0 UG 1500 ppp0 typing "netstat -M" shows netstat.c: feature 'FW-MASQUERADE' not supported. Please recomplie 'net-tools' with newer kernel source or full configuration. guessing that i missed a switch during the "make config" step of building the kernel, I compiled the kernel again, but get this same message. is there still a switch I missed? what else should I check? any ideas would be appreciated. thanks.. ------------------------------------ Brian Tuley [EMAIL PROTECTED] --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For daily digest info, email [EMAIL PROTECTED]
