        Without knowing  the set  of ipfwadm  rules that you're using,
trying to tell you something about your problem would be a shot in the
dark :-)) So ...

        Sure. Remember that    Linux   Kernel  Docs  state  that    1)
masquerading  support for specific protocols,  such as IRC,   FTP, and
QUAKE,  are only built as MODULES and 2) those modules ARE NOT handled
by  kerneld  (i.e.,  no autoloading  is  available), and  thus must be
loaded by hand (via insmod / modprobe). HTH. Regards ...
