Here's a real head scratcher (at least for me).

Let's say I used detour.net and named my external ip (24.1.2.3)
zug.detour.net. Using the magic of ipportfw, anyone on the internet can
connect to my srvr box by using the following url http://zug.detour.net.
Now, let's say I want to test my web site with my client machine. What I'd
really like to do is use the same URL (http://zug.detour.net), but that
doesn't seem to work. Does anyone know why (a routing issue?) Strangely,
ping _does_ work. That is, I can ping zug.detour.net from my client machine
and get replies. Yes, I know I can get around this by simply connecting
directly to the server from the client, but I'd like to be able to test the
URLs that I publish w/o having to go outside my local network to do it.
TIA, John
