In 95 you have to edit the registry directly. I cant recall the key you have to edit off hand but if you do a search on support.microsoft.com you should be able to locate the details -----Original Message----- From: Charles Shoemaker <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Date: Wednesday, 26 August 1998 07:10 Subject: [masq] DNS vs Netbios on Win95 machines Thanks to all for the help on the 3Com 905 card. It's working now. Did I read on this list about disabling DNS for netbios name resolution on Win 95 machines? If you know the trick, can you clue me in again, please? I need this, not so much for Linux masq, but for RASing in to NT servers. Why can't Microsoft do things the traditional (unix) way? I have a Netware 4.11 server which looks just like a unix machine running lpd, to my Linux systems. I blundered through the install, got it right the first time, and it's worked 100% ever since. It's driving an ancient Intel NetPort, with 2 laser printers attached, all perfectly happy.
