Ok, how are you connecting to your cable modem? From my (limited)
knowledge of cable modems (I have a xDSL modem, I believe the setup
is similar) you need a NIC to connect it to your Linux box. How then are
you connecting it to your Win95 box as well? If you have both going to
the same NIC, then your problem is that you probably (unless you have
a very strange NIC) need another NIC for your Linux box. One for the
cable modem, one for the LAN (your win95 box). Each card should
have a different IP address. The cable modem card should have the
fixed IP given to you by your ISP and the other should have an internal
IP address. If your cable modem connects to your Linux box in some
other manner (?) then I'm afraid I can't be of much help.

Hi,
I am pretty new to ip masq and I have read the mini-HOW-TO but I'm still
confused. Here is my situation:

I have 1 win95 (one NIC) box, 1 linux (one NIC) box one cable modem. All
connected to a hub. I have configured my Linux box to connect to the
internet through the cable modem which assigns linux an ip (65.202.10.11)
through DHCP. I have configured my win95 with an static ip 192.158.1.10.
The
question is how do I configure ip masq so that my win95 box can use the
internet.

It would be helpful if the answer is explained to me conceptually, at least
this way I will learn with the help of a little coaching :)

Here is a diagram:

192.168.1.10
_____ _______ _____________

Thanks

Dave
