Well, we use a 486/25 w/16mb for our masq/firewall box.  Since setting MTU to
1500 we have had no problem with either http or ftp from either the masq box
or any inside clients (had trouble with _both_ from inside before).  We _did_
have to set up the masq box to load the ftp module in one of the init scripts,
but I can ftp ascii or binary files of just about any size with no problems,
all at MTU 1500.
