Water curtains are no good I remember reading about this back in 1978ish. Someone actually did an experiment - it was written up in (?) Fire Technology Notes from the NFPA - gas burners were lit and thermocouples were put on a plywood wall IIRC - the science was pretty simple - it was shown that the radiant heat went right through the water spray - it was recommended that water be applied directly to the expose building Next question - why does Los Angeles City FD put all those ladder pipes up in the air at big fires - are they trying to keep the clouds from burning? --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "massfire" group.
