I was just poking around the Mayo Clinic website looking for basic info on healthy living. They apparently recommend a good diet, and walking 3 to 5 times per week (30 minutes at a shot), with a pulse between 115 and 140. They also recommend fitness exercises - but I dont know how much.
--------------------------------------- I can lay out the "good diet" info fairly simply. Based on a 2,000 calorie per day diet - 1. no more than 1500 to 2400 milligrams of sodium per day 2. women need 21 to 25 grams of fiber per day - men need 30 to 38 grams 3. no more than 300 mg of cholesterol per day 4. no more than 2 grams of trans fat per day 5. no more than 20 grams of saturated fat per day 6. between 40 to 70 grams of fats per day (including the saturated fat) 7. 50 to 175 grams of protein per day 8. 45% to 65% of all calories from carbohydrates - whole grains and beans are best - limit the candy and sweets All of these food components are listed on the food labels. <http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/healthy-diet/NU00200> - Healthy Diet - (the source for the info above) ------------------------------------------ Strength training videos - simple stuff at the top of the list - <http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/strength-training-videos/SM00116> - abdominal crunches - modified push ups - lunges - etc - and more - each video is about 1 minute long --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "massfire" group.
