I was down there just after it happened. Here's what I saw: It was a near head-on. One car crossed the center lane, hit the other. 5+ injuries, multiple to MGH, 1 to BI, 1 to Mt. A, others transported to unk hospitals. Air bag deployment in both vehicles. Vehicle 1- old red Honda sedan, crossed center line. Vehicle 2- newer-model black Cadillac, hit by red car Jaws were needed to cut off driver side door on red car. Response: APD- all sector cars (1,2,3,4,5,6), traffic enforcement (car 369), Det. Gallagher (car 1066), Capt. Bongiorno (incident commander) AFD- Engines 1, 2 Ladder 1 (the quint), Rescue, Car 2 (Dep. Chief Casey), Car 1 (Chief Jefferson) Armstrong- 1 ALS transport truck, 3-4 non-transport ALS SUVs, 2-3 transport BLS trucks, possibly another amb. company as well Mirak towed both cars to the police station. Traffic Offc Rateau is doing accident investigation. DPW responded to assist on scene- glass cleanup, etc.
Did you hear the CMED transmissions re. this accident/any specific info on the injuries?
