Very interesting - $400,000 for each pumper - $700,000 for each aerial

Arlington recently paid $800,000 for a 100 foot quint

If Boston was to convert to a fleet of all brand new 100 foot quints
instead of a fleet of all brand new pumper and ladders - the cost
would be - $40 million versus $28 million - over 15 years, that would
be $900,000 per year - approx 9 guys

Which would you rather have - 9 guys on the job or all quints?

You could do a Saint Louis thing. Have 34 quints in 34 stations. That
would cost $30 million versus $28 million. Boston could have twenty 8
man quints and ten 4 man quints.

Something to think about.
