The new UHF networks for the fire departments in the Boston Mass area
typically have 1 primary channel per community - with a various number
of backup channels. Some communities have 1, 2, or 3 repeaterized
(FB2) backup channels. Some communities just have 1 shared simplex
fireground (portable to portable) channel. In addition, there are some
shared repeater channels - MetroFire Red, MetroFire White, MetroFire
Blue, Orange, Silver, North, Central, South, etc. Additionally, there
might be some channels set aside for MO3 use.

Does anyone have any details about the actual implementation plan for
all of these various channels? How extensive is the infrastructure?
What channels have multiple receiver sites? Do any channels have
synchronized simulcast transmitters?

Does anyone know if there are any plans to share "local" channels? For
example - for a major fire at the Whidden Hospital in Everett, the
best fire radio channels might be - Everett Ch1 - Everett Ch2 -
Chelsea Ch1 - Chelsea Ch2 - Chelsea Ch3 - Revere Ch1 - Revere Ch2 -
Malden Ch1 - Boston Ch3 - MetroFire Red - Metro Central - ???? Use of
any inhouse Whidden channels might be the most useful.
