Massachusetts - my notes on the Essex County Fire 10 alarm box cards

1. There is large variations in the response per alarm - 2 E + 1L
alternating with 3 E seems to be somewhat common

2. Just 1 card shows "paramedics" on the card

3. Many communities show coverage on the first alarm, but I think that
is only rolled when there is fire or smoke showing (or a working fire
is called)

4. Georgetown Car 1 has "county cross band repeater" - ???

5. Georgetown Ladder 1 has "all the RIT equipment"

6. 4th alarm in Haverhill is just for coverage (3 E + 1 L) - IIRC this
is the only community that has such a "cover only" alarm

7. Lawrence shows no coverage till the 3rd alarm - very strange

8. 10th alarm in Lawrence gets a Ladder from Manchester NH - maybe
they respond via the Nova Scotia ferry - no Nashua L on the card - but
Nashua L does go to Lowell IIRC

9. Merrimac, Newburyport, and Salisbury all show the same PL on the
input - ????? - I definitely dont hear Newburyport as well as
Salisbury and Merrimack

10. Newburyport card also lists - forestry units + 5 inch hose +
tankers + foam + air supply - this is the only card with all of this
info

11. Boxford sends 1 Ladder to cover all 10 alarms

12. All cards say " responses may vary based on exact fire location" -
or similar words - therefore - you might say that these are "community
cards" not "box cards"
