Methuen Mass FD did a radio test at 915 AM on Saturday January 22, 2011 When "Rescue 1 portable" was tested, apparently there was a another radio nearby that was turned on. The phrase "Rescue 1 portable" was heard echoing about 10 times (before the radio operator released the PTT apparently). It sounded like some weird effect from a horror movie. or from the Simpsons - I will get you beer baron - no you wont, wont, wont.wont..wont...wont....wont......wont
To recap - there was no squeal from feedback, but there was a pronounced repeating of the audio In the past I have noted this echo effect on this repeater (154.01 R) - apparently there is some delay in the repeater system - possibly due to digital to analog signal processing.
