The Port Officers are sworn MassPort Police Officers, who patrol all MassPort owned property except for the airport. IE, Port Officers patrol the Conley Shipping Terminal in S. Boston, Pier Park in E. Boston, Autoport in Charlestown, Black Falcon Cruise Terminal, and all other MassPort-owned, non-airport property.
Additionally, there are Aviation Officers, who are unarmed, security-type officers. Aviation Officers man the guard booths at the entrances to the runways at Logan, ensuring the only authorized personnel make it onto the secure airfield. They are not armed, and I believe they are not sworn police, although they may have police academy training. Mass. State Police have law enforcement jurisdiction inside the terminals at the airport.
