Lynn FD radio IDs heard today Engine 1 Officer
Engine 1 Engine 1 Pump Engine 1 Driver "Engine 100 to Engine 1" "Engine 3 Hydrant from Engine 3, open up that hydrant" Swampscott Watch Desk Maintenance 1 Comm 1 (on the roof maybe) The alert tone to evacuate the building was a alternating high low tone If the Tower in the rear had a bulldozer blade on the front, they probably could have made it to the rear of the building. (They could have used the blade to knock down some snowbanks and maybe some fences). But since the driveways in the rear were sized for cars, and since Whittier St was so narrow, there was no way to swing into the driveway with the big truck. I was wondering if a 75 foot ladder might have been better actually. If they could make the swing and get close to the bld, then they would have better than a 100 foot ladder. Kinda counter productive to have a bigger ladder. Weird. Under control now at 1133 AM I was watching the 5 guys on the roof cutting 2 holes. They cut the holes - let out the heat and smoke - and the crews on the 3rd floor killed the fire from beneath the roof. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "massfire" group.
