6:02 p.m., police responded to discharge of a firearm within 500 feet of a building on Cliff Street. A man accidentally shot himself in the hand while checking the new night sights on his Glock 19 in his bedroom. He was transported to the hospital with a non-life-threatening injury to his middle finger.
